The festive season is in full swing and i can definitely bet on Maruti Suzuki to make the most of it.
After launching the Ritz petrol in the Indian market, the automaker has released information that it has clocked 21,200 bookings in the first week of launching their latest entry level hatchback, the Maruti Alto 800.
The Alto 800 had already clocked 10,000 bookings on the day of its launch. Today, the automaker confirmed showroom inquiries for the Alto are already up by 32% over October last year. The bump in inquiries has increased the overall demand for their range by 15 percent.
Out of the 21,200 bookings, Maruti Suzuki has already retailed 7,000 units. This includes the event held in Kerala where 200 cars were delivered to their respective owners in a single day.
The automaker has been holding over 50 mega camps in the rural market where its vehicles are displayed and customers can come and buy off the shelf.
A clever move by Maruti Suzuki is to introduce the CNG variant of the Alto 800 right from the launch day. The CNG variant may not be of any use in the rural areas but will definitely be a consideration in some of the metros where it holds a cost advantage over petrol.

I believe this car will take whole market as storm.Maruti has caught the right Indian nerve of frugal engineering and obsession with mileage of Indian customers and that will remain the core USP of the new Alto 800.
