The new Chevrolet Spark with the twin-port Chevrolet grille will launch on the 25th of October.
The original plan was to put it on the market on the 15th, a day before the Maruti Alto 800 graced us, but the chances of the refresh going unnoticed in such a launch-heavy period could have led GM India to think up a new strategy.
The vehicle launches with reprofiled headlights, chrome garnish on the grille that now sports revised graphic patterns, redesigned fog lamps with bezels bordered by chrome, dual-tone front and rear bumpers and new rear reflectors for better safety.
The new Chevrolet Spark will be launched in 6 colors – Caviar Black, Velvet Red, Sandrift Grey, Linen Beige, Summit White and Misty Lake.
The interiors have been re-upholstered, with inspiration from Indian culture. The design of the door pad is made to look upmarket.
The Spark drives on with the same 1-liter petrol and LPG variants. The sequential injection-type LPG kit comes factory fitted. There are no upgrades to its powertrain.
The Spark’s volumes is being constantly challenged by the updated Maruti Alto 800 and Hyundai Eon, which are new bodies on older platforms. Sales of the Spark have simmered down since the beginning of 2012.
GM India has announced that it will launch the Chevrolet Sail, to be positioned in a higher segment, in November, in both petrol and diesel.
Most of the hatchbacks and sub-compact series of India are favorite choices of Indians. And this is the reason there is a cut-throat competition in this segment.Chevrolet has taken advantage of this segment and launched two cars Beat and Spark.Spark has shown good results and its new upgraded version will be a huge hit.
