Mercedes-Benz in India had been waiting for the new B-class to arrive and now that it has, the company will launch it here soon. The B-class now sports a design more matured than before, albeit with signature Mercedes design elements. Interiors have been tweaked to offer better room. First time features on the B include Pre-Safe, Blind Spot and Lane Assist, among others. New direct-injection petrol engines are being offered. This includes a 1.6-litre B180 with 122bhp and the B200 with 156bhp. A 1.8-litre common-rail diesel is planned which will pump out 109bhp and 136bhp. Transmissions will either be a 7G-DCT dual-clutch or a six-speed manual.
